![]() ![]() ![]() When I did that, there was hesitation (processing?) when changing channels, and in the DVD Player's playing of movies. Let me tell you my experience: I ran my DVD player's and my Satellite Box's HDMI outputs thru the Vizio, and into my TV input. Some previous reviews complained of problems with the HDMI pass-thru. Compared to the TV's original speakers, the VHT215 is the audio difference between VHS and Blu-Ray. But the selling point for me was its 3.5mm (iPod or similar) jack, so that I can hear my CD's and/or MP3's through these great speakers. ![]() First, it offers 3 HDMI ports, two input, a one pass-thru output port (ARC Compatible). The Vizio sounded great, and also had a few extra features in particular that won me over. Then I went to where they were on display to hear them in person. (I didn't want to run wires with an amp and speakers). So I carefully weighed my options, and then the options of each individual sound bar that I investigated. ![]() I have tried (without success) to watch and enjoy HD TV and Blu-Ray DVD's with the the woefully inadequate standard-equipment sound that came with the TV. Be sure to follow the recommended placement of the sound bar: ON THE FLOOR and not on the TV stand in front of the TV! Surround-sound immersion from the floor is greatly enhanced! The sound is a clear, clean, immersion of sound that turns anything you watch into an experience. The sound has all the feel of a movie theater, with clarity, depth, and the rich bass of the separate sub-woofer (even when turned down so that my family, relaxing rooms away, can hear their own thoughts). I am typing this while I am enjoying the "Theater Sound" of the Vizio VHT215 Sound bar. ![]()
